Media Room

The City of Toronto is committed to developing and maintaining professional working relationships with media outlets to promote public awareness and understanding of City policies, programs, services, new initiatives and Council decisions.

Through the City’s Media Relations team, the City facilitates media access to a range of City materials, information and expertise. Media Relations is available at [email protected] Monday to Friday from approximately 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (excluding holidays), and after-hours and weekends for urgent, operationally-critical inquiries only.

Media Requests

Media requests from journalists affiliated with City Hall Press Gallery media outlets are given priority for a response. Media requests from other media and journalism students are responded to in sequence and, as such, response times may vary. Requests for large volumes of detailed or technical data and information subject to legal review and privacy legislation may take longer to compile.

Members of the public with questions for the City should reach out to 311. 311 provides residents, businesses and visitors with access to non-emergency City services, programs and information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
